Sophiatown Community Psychological Services

The organisation offers counselling and other forms of psychosocial support to individuals, families, groups and communities in distress. It supports people of all ages with a range of problems that affect their emotional well-being and ability to cope with the demands of everyday living.

Sophiatown Community Psychological Services serves the poor and marginalised communities in greater Johannesburg and its surrounds. Offices are based in Westdene and Bertrams, with the Bertrams satellite office providing on-going counselling services to refugee families.

An IPCP community worker assists with the facilitation of a weekly support group for refugees who are living with HIV and AIDS.
